World of Wheels in Atlanta

Well, I flew down to World of Wheels on Friday night so I could go to the Show on Saturday. Then I flew back Saturday night so I could work today.

I had a great day because my ‘69 Nova was in the show with one of the local Georgia car clubs.

This is what a Million Dollar Muscle car looks like. This car is a one of a kind Baldwin Motion Buick GSX. I saw it up for sale on e-bay a few months ago and the bidding went to $675,000.00 (that’s no typo!!), and it did NOT hit the reserve:

They are Shankin's wheels and what's left of his tires!!!!

I have a set of original SS whels that are being restored and old style Torq Thrusts also. I will give Jeff his steelies back (most of 'em were mine anyway) and use the other two sets fo wheels. I can't wait to get this car back to NY!!

I know you will find this hard to believe, but Jeff wants to do teh same thing! :D

The plan is to send a few of my cars North at the beginning of April. With any luck Jeff will be done with his BB conversion by then and we will go out and tear up some pavement.

I purchased my Nova from Eric Granger (turbo coupe), in late December. He and I used to hang out back in the early 90s when the Fox bodies were just getting popular.

Anyway, I was in the process of building a 93 LX coupe when he placed the Nova up for sale. The nova was done in the same taste that I was taking the coupe towards...except the nova had the 540 BB!! :eek:

I want to get it down on Jeff's dyno to see what it's actually made of. The builder of the car "says" that it went a high 6.80 at Paradise (1/8th mile)

You know Jeff loves these Novas. Bring it to the shop and strap it down.

I will next be down there March 9th (to hang out) and then again on March 30th to go to NMRA at Reynolds.

I plan on having mine done sometime soon so we can take them all out. I am pretty sure i can make it spin for 4 city blocks but i may need to practice!LOL

Martyo you should put your nova on the dyno before you take it back up north.I bet that 427 put out alot of power at the wheels.What kind of trans do you have.

We plan on strapping it down soon. It has a m22 and a 373 rear gear.

Actually, I bought that car in Georgia and I have never had it in New York!

Jeff (Shankin) is my best friend and I keep 5 cars at his shop. In the spring I will be bringing a few of them north.

The shipping time with the company I use is typically 7 - 14 days and the cars ride in an enclosed trailer.

At this point its just cheaper to move down here and buy a house with a 22 car garage.
