Site Question..

Not sure where to post this question..so I will try this area. What would you recommend regarding problems for items not delivered from site members selling in the classified section. I purchased and paid for some parts and did not receive everything...have tried numerous contacts via PM..but so far..nothing. I realize the site is not responsible for transactions...but I would like to know how other folks here handle these type of things...too bad I even have to ask the question..but...

Do you mean no communicaton/reply to the PM, or no satisfaction in resolving you not getting you parts?

If no responses at all, I think eventually it warrants posting the sellers I.D. etc here to prevent it happening again. That is how it works on other forums I frequent, and that seems to give the best results.

I mailed out a LARGE book early last year to a member who was supposed to pay me shipping(listed it in the freebie section plus shipping), I have yet to see that. I mailed out a pair of (well used and abused) spiral shocks and still havent heard from the member weather he got them or threw them away or refurbished them and I was supposed to get shipping on them as well. I won't tell who they were and one of them I can't even remember his name, I think he only had a couple of posts... Shipping wasn't much but I can't do that all the time... I really think it just slipped thier mind and I hate reminding people over small stuff. If it was a set of NOS quarters I would probably send reminders :)

Having conversed with both parties, I found that the transaction occurred outside our classifieds and there is some misunderstandings on both sides. Hopefully, they are going to work this out among themselves. I would not be in favor of booting someone from the site unless an intentional fraud were committed.;)

Thanks for all your help and concern with this matter....I have followed the advice of the mods. and sent a PM to try and settle the issue....sorry if it created any problems for anyone or took up valuable time...really didn't know what else to do....you guys have been thoughtful and it is greatly appreciated:)

Whatever money I receive to settle this problem will be donated to this site.....thanks again for all your help!;)

I sold Tom a engine that I had for sale and it was not on this site. I in no way tryed to rip Tom off on the deal. Tom sent me out a check for the engine and said that he would come down and pick it up. After a few months we talked back and forth about when he was going to come down and pick it up. I ended up driving out(RI to NY) and dropping of the engine to Tom at no extra cost to him. When I loaded up the engine I forgot to put the oil pan and timing cover in the truck(my fault). I told him I would have to send him out the pan and cover and he was fine with that. I had some family probloms(I won't get into here) and could not get my hands on it(still can't). Tom has not only my home phone # but my email as well and only sent me PM's throught this site about it. I have tryed to get the parts for him but still can't,I have a lot of other parts that I have with Tom's parts that I need for my car but just can't get to them. I told Tom that I an going to try and send some one over to get his stuff and if I can't get them,I'll send him out some cash for the parts. I don't know why it was brought up here,Tom has my # and could have called me at anytime. If he did not beleave me about not having the parts were I could get to them,he could have drove down. I would have sent him over there to get them and maybe he could have got them himself with no probloms. Its only a short ride from NY to RI,I did it for no extra $$$$$. Ed
