Air bags on Heidts front clip

I just got my Air Ride Tech. Shock Waves.
Got all ready to install and the bags interfear with the frame where the coil spring notch is,not the spring hat gussets where I thought would be the problem . Had to send them back today , what a bummer. Has anyone bagged a 64 ht with the Heidts front clip ? If so what's the solution ?
Would like to set it down in front only to power park !

Roger, post a pic of the interference if you can. I know I've posted with you about this install before, as I've done it on my TCI front. Perhaps Heidt's is different in this area - I'm not sure. I purchased new lower control arms from ART, modified the coil spring tower lower section and also die-ground some clearance in the upper-inner coil spring locating flange for the Shockwave air-line fitting.

Did you try mounting them upside down? For clearance reasons, it may be required.

Fast65,

No pics.
I think your TCI frame is kicked in bout 1" and the Heidts is not.
Maybe that's the major difference , I don't know?
My frame is "C" notched out for the 4.62" dia coil spring .
This is where the interference with the air bag (5.5" dia.) accures.
It would be a major fix , the way I see it , if even possible.
There is no interference in the spring hat gusset area (Heidts) as you encountered in your install (TCI).
You got any ideas how to drop the front of the SILVER BULLET ?
Thanks for your help.

PS,anybody here try to install air bags on 64 Nova with Heidts clip ?

Shane,

Didn't try upside down.
The shocks would have to be reconfigured, flipflop the mounting ?
How would you do that? The adj. knob would then not be accessable.
Would they then fit in the lower "A" frame upside down ?

Has anyone done this with success ?

Its a good idea Shane .

ps , If anyone has done this , please let me know.

Thanks all , THE SILVER BULLET

They mount upside down on the TCI clip(orientate the valve to the best position) and I've seen others mounted that way in some other clips. I'm not sure what ends you had on the Shockwaves. The ends are removeable. Not sure if they can be swapped end for end. They don't make many Shockwave models but do make those few models work by making different ends to fit all the applications they list. They Shockwaves I used in the 64 when I had it on the road last were purchased from an SSR show truck on ebay. I bought the bottom adapters from Air Ride Tech. and made them work on the Nova.
