I am hosting a cruise in on May 6th in Hope B.C. All the details are in the Canadian Section. We are not too far across the border and if anyone from your neck of the woods can make it.....Hey, that would be awesome!:D
Thanks, Todd

hey u.s. buds,
todd forgot to mention that there are lots of cool campgrounds in his area for any saturday arrivals and the chances are slim you'll be attacked by a grizzly bear(a few mad beavers around mind you,but that's a different thing.lol)
please come and see what western canadian hotrodding has to offer.
thanks,carl

Todd...... yer floggin' a dead horse here. I have tried numerous times to hook up with these guys even in their neck of the woods........... it seems they are all too far south of us and always have meetings to attend. ;) ;) Most of their cars are inoperable and it's too far for them to come. But it would sure be nice if one or two showed up!!
Ric hey, can I bring the Fury???

Wouldn't winning friends and influencing people be better served by complimenting people on their ability to freely travel in the region rather than bag on them for past failures to attend regional shows??
Doubt away. After that welcome I'm not going anywhere. :shh:

Sorry, just felt like stirring the pot. I keep beating my head against the same issue (non-attendance) every month trying to keep the NW Nova Club together.
If you can guilt people into showing up at a car show or event, you're doing a better job than me. :D
I'll add it to a future meeting's discussion topic list.

Thanks for the invite...it's about a 3 hour drive to the border for me from here, but that gives me an idea anyway. Won't be bringing my car...it's still a project and I'm in the middle of acquiring a new street rod, and just bought a new engine for the girlfriends race car that needs to get installed, but put er down on the calendar in case the weekend frees up. Sounds like a fun time.

I think the only way to boost attendance to these type of shows, is to also offer a Nova parts swap meet.

I'll try to get my 65 in condition to make the 200 mile trip. Could be quite an adventure, could leave me stranded far from home. Any awards for long distance travel?

May is a long ways off, but I might consider it...
My father is hoping to have his '70 done by then as well.
We're in Sedro Woolley, so around an hour from the border.

Yup, it is a while away. So we bookmark the date for ya and you show up.
ChopperDr......Even if you were to have any probs, we keep tabs on your drive up, maybe a call or 2, all is well and your here. Or we come get you. There are enough gearheads and big hearts to pull you through. No worries.
Carl, and Bogie, be gentle please:rolleyes: :D I appreciate the pressure!!:D
Remember guys, work in progress is cool too. It doesnt have to be perfect.

The swap meet is a great idea. I am not sure how many guys want to trek their parts all the way to Hope though. If anyone is is up for that, let me know.

Tim, this would be a good idea for the Canadian guys, but bringing swap meet items in from the U.S. to sell in Canada is a nightmare. I checked into this a couple of years ago for a show we were planning and nobody from the U.S. would go through the Canadian governments bureaucratic nonsense just to try and sell some used Nova parts.

Not trying to be mean & nasty. Sorry if I came across a little that way. Trying to ignite a spark. I can imagine how hard it is to get an organization going, but I've been to several shows in the Northwest and ask for guys to come by even just to say hi.......... but nobody does??........Tacoma, Puyallup, Wenatchee, Coeur d'Lane. Some of those are 1000 mile round trips for me and I love road trips..:D It would be great to see some of you, sometime??
Cheers Ric

I am really looking forward to going to Hope. I hope our 65 is done by then. If not I'll drive something else. Any recommendations on a hotel/motel? Do I need a passport to get across the border?

Hey Blue ,
This is a link to some accommodations , http://www.hopebc.ca/h.accommodations.html#Anchor-5335
As for recomendations PM littledeuce --He started this thread and is organizing the event . He also lives in Hope so he will have a better idea about which place is good or bad . I'm not 100% sure about passports for U.S citizens .. I know that when I head in to the States these days I need it . Probably a good idea to have it with ya ..:)
See ya there
Marek
