Myself, I like the wide version of the stripes that have the 1/4" pinstripe around them, that end before the hood/trunk ends. IMO, get yourself some tape or butcher paper and play around 'til you find something you like. I don't think there's a set rule for how wide/far apart your stripes had to be...it's all about personal taste.
