My dad lives in the Seattle area and just had a very bad experience with the machine shop he has been using for the last couple of years.
Does anyone have recommendations on a good shop?
Thanks,
Glen

It may be a little drive but go to BRITCO racing engines in centralia and ask for Darin or Shawn.
They do excellent work!!!!!
Check their references on the NPSA chat board.

Its been a while, but I wanted to thank Dragnova67 for the Britco recommendation:D
My dad and I just picked up our 383 sleeper/restomod from Britco Racing for the numbers matching 74 SS hatchback that we are restoring.
Years ago I would have never considered someone other than myself assembling an engine for MY car. Times change - I have a young family, a new job, and little free time.
Anyhow, I couldn't be happier with Darin and the team at Britco. I can't remember the last time my expectations were exceeded:D Darin spent alot of time on the phone with me prior to the build and regularly communicated with me as the build progressed. AND the workmanship and performance are flawless. ALL of my requests from gasket installation, to sealers and their application, etc were honored without questions.
The build: original 2 bolt block with ARP main studs; Scat 9000 3.75" stroke crank; Scat 4340 6" I beam rods; worked over original 883 heads, Edlebrock Performer Air Gap intake painted Chevy Orange, Carb Shop prepped original QJet, Keith Black Forged pistons, Lunati Voodoo 262 ground on small base circle with 108 LSA, custom Davis Unified Ignition large body HEI; stock valve covers, stock appearing Moroso oil pan with simple built in scraper and windage tray; all painted Chevy Orange.
The numbers: 400 ft-lbs of torque from 2,700 RPM thru 4,800 RPM with 430 ft-lb peak at 3,700 RPM; 370 peak HP at 5,400 RPM. All with 18" of vacuum at warm idle.
