I just got mine going about a week ago, just wondering if there is anyone else on this site with a LS1 conversion and what set up are you running.
Mine is a 71 49,000 mile all original 6cyl car that I put a LS1 in with a 700R4 trans.

I know nothing of newer motors, but I want to say that your car is killer! That's the kind of Nova I want someday.

looks like it could be a good sleeper there too.
whats that off the drivers side head? is it just for the pulley?
wouldn't mind one of those sitting in my car too.

Cool ride! Nice clean install too, how long have you been driving it like this?

I'm in the process of my 5.3l. Are you using an alternator only? If so what did you use for accessory brackets?

Yes, I am running an alternator only. We made the idler pulley off of the drivers head in place of the powersteering pump. Here is a different pic of the motor.

I absolutely love it!!! I have always loved that color! Did you by chance buy that car from a guy in the Kansas City area? I remember a low mile CLEAN one just like that with the plastic still on the seats sitting at my buddies interior shop. The previous owner was gonna change the color of the interior and exterior and that about made me cry! Luckily he sold it before he did.

I've been thinking heavily about an LS1 swap into my 74. Do you have a website where you documented your buildup or any resources you used to complete yours? Thanks in advance!

I like the mix of new and old technology, LS1 with a carb and a nice clean install.

What kind of modifications did you do to the subframe crossmember and do you have any pics of it?

Man is that thing a sleeper. Looks like a typical little old lady car, then you pop the hood. Damn nice job. :D :D

Sweet ride! Love the look, and I love LS1s. There is a fuel injected LS1 Nova on here somewhere......

This car spent it's whole life in Kentucky. Unfortunately I did not take a whole lot of pics during the install. I used Street & Performance engine mounts and oil pan. Motor sits back close to the firewall but clears everything just fine. The oil pan is notched perfect and clears the steering linkage really nice. I used Sanderson headers for a 1st gen Camaro, really close to the steering box but clears without problems. The biggest mod was to the trans crossmember and figuring out the pulley system. I will have to post up a recent pic of the interior, it is like brand new! It is all green with a rubber mat instead of carpet and still has original floor mats.
Thanks everybody for the nice compliments!

Nice car, I like the colors you dont normally see. Your car does remind me of the W2W car.
Plain Jane and business only.

Heres mine. Just started taking it apart the other night to paint it.
The wires running across the top are for the wideband, just there for tuning only. I just noticed them...lol.

I still have my fuel lines routed from when the car was carbed. Looks kinda goofy. I'll have to change that some day.

What kind of numbers is the turbo LS1 putting down? Very nice, I would love to have that set up in mine!

I have not had it dynoed nor has it been to the track yet. I just finished it not too long ago, and weather stopped me from getting a track run in. It should be close to around 600wrhp @ 15 psi right now. Thats the absolute limit on the stock 5.3 shortblock. And the Limit on my 60# injectors also.

Driving around normally it has like 200hp. And it sounds sluggish. Ive given a couple people rides and just tapping the gas they were kinda like ***?? Cause its super weak w/ no boost. Then at about 50mph get on it and start spinning as its accelerating hard they grab the roll bar and clench all up...lol. I have some other size wheels for the back to make it look stock. But the Aeromotive fuel pump gives it away, its louder than the exhaust.

Future plans are to build a forged 6.0 shortblock and up the boost a little and looking for around 800rwhp.
