I was not happy with my vinyl top trim corners they had some light pitting. So over the summer I bought another set to have re-chromed which I did. Tonight I went to swap them out and the drivers side is different. The passenger side swaped out perfect. The part number for the passenger side was RHT 8741113. The driverside one I had re-chromed had a part number of LHT8741114. The one that was on my car had a part number of LHT7746385.
These two left side ones look the same just one is a hair longer. So I went off to my fathers gm parts books and found out gm had a different part number for 68,69 and 70-72 were the same. The pair that I had were listed for the 70-72 nova. But the original left one isn't one of the part numbers for 68 or the 69 nova. I even looked at the 4dr part numbers and I found no match. What other gm car had this moldings that would fit on the nova. I am just curious. My fix is simple. I am going to send the ones out that were on my car to get re-chromed. So I will have a set for sale in a couple of weeks. Just wondering if anyone else ran into this problem.
