Hey all
Just wanted to formally introduce myself, my name's Brian and I'm located in CT. I work full time and go to School full time. I just bought a Nova with a 350 auto. I bought it because it doesn't have any rust, even the underside. (try finding that in new england for a decent price ) First ion the todo list is a power disk conversion and some power steering. I plan on putting a new motor (haven't made up my mind yet) and a 5 speed and new rebuilt posi with 4.1 gears. Down the road I'd like to repaint it Black Cherry and ditch the vinal top.
Brian
Welcome to the site. That is one nice looking Nova you found up there :)

Welcome aboard Brian. Glad to have you on the team. That is one fantastic Nova you have found. If it were mine, the only thing I would do to it is get the hood painted to match the rest of the car. I think it looks GREAT like it is. But its not mine and I hope you enjoy it and the site.

Greetings,
Looks very nice! A lot better than mine when I got it in 1992! Like anything else, it just takes time and money to make it the way you want it.
Welcome aboard,
Jason

cool car!!!Welcome!!Keep in mind 4.11's are very steep gears and won't be much fun driving back and forth to work or school. You could always go with some 3.55's or 3.73's.bm

ha! were twins.
I'm going to paint it all flat black for now I tihnk because i don't have the moeny or worry to paint it body color, plus down the line I'm probably going to opt for 2' cowl, so I might be furitless to paint it.
I'm also debating just painting the hood, putting in a shift kit, cam, headers, intake and intake maniforl and selling it and buying another one. I feel almost guilty to change it. It's an all orignal cali car. I've got the cali title and all.

If your gonna sell it dont touch it. if you got it for a great price sell it as is because it looks great, your gonna sink money into it that you not gonna get back if you do all that to it. your prophit will be much higher if you keep it as origonal as possible. Just fix whats broken

out of curiosity, waht do you think i could get for it?
its needs:
parking brake cable reconnected
new vent levers/ or vents (the triangular windows)
dash lights fixed
tune up
(all of which would be done fore i sell it)
Has
new tires + new spare
newer paint + vinal top
all original drive train
2 barrel 350 with a th350 and non posi 10 bolt, new interior benches front and back, column shifter, and everything you can see the condition of in the pics.

Leave it blue. Looks fine as is. And the power stuff, that's what gyms and health spas are for--real men don't need power steering/brakes! If you're going to switch to a MANUAL trans, why not MANUAL brakes/steering?

Oh Boy, with ALL that stuff wrong--you should just let me have it for about $500. and be done with it!! Let me know where to send the check.

Just out of curiosity just how much did you pay for it. Is it a real SS. It seems to be in great shape and those are VERY MINOR problems that you could probably fix your self very cheaply.

you can send the check anytime, ill just hold onto the car until about 500 years after it clears to be safe.
It's not a real SS, they came with a 4 barrel, this is a two. The only badges are the grill, the tail panel and the steering wheel, so it could be turned back to original qucikly.
the only reason i ask what you think i should sell for is that i do feel bad tearing apart one of the few whole original train and body cars left here. i wanna swap out lots of stuff, and well... i feel bad about it like im ruining it or something.:awkward:

Welcome to the site, Venturesomerite, from another New Englander (Massachusetts). Love your car, and like Wolfen, I'm partial to blue and black. If you're thinking of selling it, could you pm me with a price?

These are two examples below as to what you would get on ebay. It also has to do with how the car is optioned out and what you have done that is appealing to the muscle car community. Like, cloning a Nova to an SS... If its done right an SS clone would pull almost as much as a real SS. I have seen this happen many times so, the actual price you get all depends on the car...
Here's one numbers matching 72 Nova sold on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Nova-1972-CHEVROLET-NOVA_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6172QQihZ009QQitem Z190050424665QQrdZ1
Here's one that was not numbers matching;
