Put my heater core in and one of the hoses is only about a 1/8" away from the valve cover :( . Is this going to be a problem? Thanks

The problem is trying to work on the darn thing.:( Mine is the same way. I think they got their better idea from Furd.

Are you running your hoses in the stock position on the inner fender like mine are run? I know my replacement core's inlet and outlet pipes were angled towards the passenger side a little bit, to allow the hoses to slip on the pipe outlets. Even then, I have one that is pretty close, but there's more than 1/8 of an inch. I can't see where it would hurt anything, considering the temp. of both the valve cover and the hose.

It would have just been better if they used a big block heater core in even small block cars and all the problems would be over!! ;)

So true Tom, why have two different setups when one would have worked for all the available engines. Doesn't make sense.

I just do not want the motor to hit or break the core when I rev the motor.

Why not use the BB set up you only have to buy the core and plate where hoses come threw and drill out your outer box.

It's not quite 80 here but it was still 57 degrees at 6:30 here in northern ca. It's supposed to be down in the 40's at night for the next week. As far as heater hoses go, my wifes 72 sb has about 1/4 to 1/2 inch clearance.

The big block heater core cover is reproduced. They are on ebay all the time. I'm sure other companies also carry them:
