Put my heater core in and one of the hoses is only about a 1/8" away from the valve cover :( . Is this going to be a problem? Thanks
How close is your heater hose??Ed's68 20th-November-2006, 06:34 PM Put my heater core in and one of the hoses is only about a 1/8" away from the valve cover :( . Is this going to be a problem? Thanks XINLOI44 20th-November-2006, 06:59 PM The problem is trying to work on the darn thing.:( Mine is the same way. I think they got their better idea from Furd. Don brickyardboy 20th-November-2006, 07:16 PM Are you running your hoses in the stock position on the inner fender like mine are run? I know my replacement core's inlet and outlet pipes were angled towards the passenger side a little bit, to allow the hoses to slip on the pipe outlets. Even then, I have one that is pretty close, but there's more than 1/8 of an inch. I can't see where it would hurt anything, considering the temp. of both the valve cover and the hose. Toms73NovaSS 20th-November-2006, 08:08 PM It would have just been better if they used a big block heater core in even small block cars and all the problems would be over!! ;) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b259/tjkoprevich/engine2.jpg RatNova71 20th-November-2006, 08:19 PM So true Tom, why have two different setups when one would have worked for all the available engines. Doesn't make sense. Ed's68 20th-November-2006, 08:23 PM I just do not want the motor to hit or break the core when I rev the motor. taz3 20th-November-2006, 08:51 PM Why not use the BB set up you only have to buy the core and plate where hoses come threw and drill out your outer box.
