Got the engine and trans installed in my 69 project car today. This is the ex-racecar that I am turning to Pro-street. After reading about all the problems everyone else was having installing their BB's I was sweating it a little. I am happy to report that it went in with no problems. The only thing I had to modify was the header flange. I ended up cutting a notch in the header flange just above the lower head bolts. I had ARP head bolts installed on the engine and they were taller than factory ones. I wasn't too pleased when I discovered why my headers weren't fitting the head right, but it could have been a lot worse. It was an easy fix for the problem. I also had good clearance for the headers on both sides. The pipes are only close at one point on the steering box and that still has better than 1/8 of an inch clearance. That 468 looks huge sitting in the frame with no front clip on. Now comes the tedious part finishing up all the wiring and little things. I love these projects!!!!!

It had a full black iron pipe roll cage in it which I removed to update to newer stuff.( This car has been a racecar since the early 70's) Suspension has been rebuilt, new steering box, all body work is done. The engine is a 468 with the full edelbrock rpm kit installed. Trans is a TH400 with TCI streetfighter converter. Pro stick shifter. The engine was built by Madcap also.

Greetings,

The 468 looks great sitting in there! I remember when I had a 468 in my car...It wasn't good as a daily driver but it'd run like a bat out of hell...LOL
