Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, and I just bought a 70 Nova. The Body is in very good shape.. No rust, Doors hood, and trimimg all line up nicely.

I first saw the car, and thought.. WOW this thing looks mean...
I had to have it... I immediately put my Camaro up for sale, and put a deposit on this car.

I don't know what did it for me about this car but it just looked so mean,

Right now no drivetrain... The seller keeps telling me it's an original Big Block car.. I can only see that the heater hoses go near the passenger side fender, and it has a 12 Bolt Posi in it aswell. It's an original 4sp car...

Regardless, I already have an engine for it... I just need a Transmission now..

I can't wait...

Is it me or are these cars completely Underated?

Anything I should look out for on these cars?

Thanks everyone :)

Not for long!
I've seen nova's in my local aread going for twice what they were a few years ago when I started on my '72. The days of the cheap muscle car are over, for sure!
When I first got my nova my chevelle/camaro/gto friends gave me a hard time for trying to "pimp out the 70's version of the Cavalier"......

They don't say anything anymore...maybe its the rumble...?

Thanks for the info guys, and for the warm welcome

NovaSS396L34 The core tubes exit from the middle of the heater core cover, and it's near the passenger side inner fender..I'll check the other details you mentioned.. Great link.. Thanks

I have a 388 stroker ready for it, and I just picked up a 4 speed assmbly including Z Bar. I just need Tranny, Clutch Fork, and Throw out bearing. :)

Good thing is that I have all winter to make it right. :)

Novas used to be the "overlooked" musclecar and the value showed. Now that almost anything from the 60's to early 70's is sought after. The prices have since jumped to some almost crazy pricing. I never will believe a Nova should be worth more than 20K (except perhaps a 66-67 or Orig BB car) but that's me.
