My 350 (I ws told its a 350/350, this was a police engine 4 bolt mains) has a 600cfm Holley on it now. It has 041 heads (same as the double humps), edelbrock intake and a mild cam (Don't know the specs). It has a little lope to it and sounds mean. You can tell the compression must be near 10:1 by the way it sounds IMO..
The question is, do you guys think this carb is too small? I don't want to sacrifice throttle response just for top end. But, I don't want a carb that is too small. My thought is it is a little on the small side but may not be worth the ****$ to upgrade.
What's you're thoughts??

My 9:1 350 sounded mean...

Is it a double pumper or vacuum secondary carb? What model intake do you have?

It's a holley 1850 (600 cfm I believe with vacuum secondary) with a Edelbrock performer intake..

Greetings,
That should suit you just fine...A 750 would be overkill. The only reason why I have a Holley 750 vacuum secondaries carb on mine is that I had it laying around from when I had the 468ci in my Nova. If I had to buy a carb, I would go either 600 or 650.

That's kind of what I thought but I was not sure.. The only thing that I wish it had was mechanical secondaries.. Seeing it not an auto, mechanical secondaries with the 600cfm would be the right thing..
Can't have everything I guess. Can't see spending ****$ just to get that...

You should be suited perfectly with 600cfm.
Your setup sounds pretty similar to mine, and I've never had a problem with my Holley 600 (vacuum secondaries).
If you're wanting your secondaries to open sooner go buy a spring kit and keep putting in lighter and lighter springs until you experience a bog when the secondaries kick in. Then go back one spring stiffer.
