So what's the largest rear tire I can run on a pair of 14X6 stock rims? 235 ya think?

Depends on how tall the sidewall is. My little tire guide (the Summit catalog :D ) sort of says if you use 70 series you could go 235, 50-60 series 225. Try looking through some web site like TireRack.com They have lots of info.

I don't think I'd go more than a 235.

I'm running 235/60's on 14x7's and even then the sidewall bulges out a bit much for my taste. It really doesn't look bad, though.

Your local tire shop should be able to help ya out. Mine tried to sell my 245/60's for my wheels, but I declined...It's hard to find anything wider than than for a 14" wheel anymore.
