Question on Calipers

I just put the front suspension together on my 63. I put a TCI clip on the car. The calipers came installed on the spindles, but they look like they are switched sides to me. The calipers are supposed to be off a S10. The brake line goes in the bottom and the bleeder valve is at the top. On a sharp turn, the brake line will hit the coil spring. Just doesn't look right to me. What do you guys think? Here is a couple pics. Thanks in advance...

didja weld on yer own tabs for the brake hoses or did they come pre-welded... i found on my Heidt's clip it's furnished with no tabs and ya have ta locate 'em yerself... well, i located mine incorrectly and had ta move 'em...

mine looked very similar to yers... i moved my tabs.

before ya tackweld the tabs, install hoses, calipers... everything and give the rotor a turn steering all the way, lock to lock and make sure everything clears ok... then tackweld yer brackets, recheck and weld...

i had ta do mine twice when i shoulda done once... i learned the hard way

i hope i helped in some way... best of luck to ya ;)

If you look at a stock Mustang II or Pinto you will see that the brake hoses go forward around the spring and attach to the frame in front of the crossmember. It works best to mount the brake hose tabs to the bottom of the frame rails just ahead of the crossmember. Then when you turn the hose just curls around the spring with no interference with spring or tire.

Tim is right on the mark with the brake line tabs. If you don't do it that way, you'll fight forever trying to get it right.

As far as the caliper position, they are correct... the brake line enters at the bottom and bleeder
valve is at the top.

As far as the brake line routing, I'd see Tim's post above! :D

Thanks for the input guys. Like Johnny, I mounted my tabs before I hooked up the brake line. I'm going to have to remount them. Just another "I shoulda done that!!!"

Thanks again. I'm getting closer!! Hope to be on the road by summer!!
