I'm looking to purchase a column shift tilt steering for my 71 SS 4-speed car. The seller told me you can buy a different collar from year one, to replace the collar with the shift lever and indicator. Anyone heard or have done this ?? I did a search at Year One, and could not find anything....just the collar that houses the lock. Anyway, thanks again in advance !!

I've been looking for the same thing with very little luck. There is a place that sells a rubber sort of thing that slips over the old collar that disguises it.

I bought one and am not just totally happy with it. I may end up just using a lot of JB Weld and sandpaper.
Please let me know if you find out something better.

you can drive out the roll pin, remove your shift lever, use a grinder or sawzall to remove the large unused hump, and fill the hole with whatever you want and skim coat w/filler.
