Help
I've posted this stuff before but I'm doing it again because it's almost time to decide and I still havent made up my mind.
I have a 72 Nova. I am upgrading the entire rearend this winter - starting immediately. I will be replacing the leaf springs also. The original ones from 1972 are on there now. Mine is a street muscle car. 454 chevy, Turbo 350 trans -3.73 gear, posi, standard 27" tires, etc. I will also be installing Caltrac bars this winter. It will see the dragstrip only once a year, but I do plenty of drag racing on the local streets when nobody is around (for safety sake)
question: should I just get new multi-leaf springs or should I get the Calvert Racing split mono-leaf springs instead?
Nevermind the price - I don't care if the split mono's cost $100 more. This is a car I will likely keep for at least 10 years, so I don't mind spending a little extra for good stuff. Which would give me a better ride, and hookup better. I'm sure the mono's are at least 15 lbs lighter each side, so that is 1 advantage for the mono's.
thanks
