U Bolt size?

I am going to replace my leaf spring studs with U bolts since I'm putting on my cal tracs, but I dont know which ones to get. It has mono leafs, 8.5 in 10 bolt.

3" should fit the bill.

3" x 7" x 3/8 is what I used on mine.

Not sure what size mine were when I got the car but they were welded up to the axles on the 12 bolt along with the axle tubes being welded to the diff housing. The stock t-bolts looked tiny in the holes the u-bolts had been in.:cool:

3" ctc for the width, the length will depend on whether you have mono or multi leaf setup. I have monos and cut the U bolts down to 5". I'd suggest going with 1/2" dia for strength and safety. You might have to open up the holes in the spring perches; I would think the cal trac lower plate is designed for at least 1/2" hardware.
