Rear Shocks - How to Choose?

Help

will be relocating my rear shocks this winter (see my other thread in "Drag Racing Forum). Once the shocks mounts (upper and lower) have been moved, I will need to buy new shocks. I just went and checked under the car. Looks like the new "upper" mounts will be lower than the original factory mounting location, making the shock distance between upper and lower mounts closer together. How do I go about choosing a new shock?

I asked this question and many different replies. The best I can tell you is to call QA1 tech and they will ask a few questions and tell you how to measure and then when you call them back they will give you the correct part number.

I ended up with a mopar shock and a change over kit on the back of my nova. The problem I was having was the shock was to short and would max out when the car would leave.

Works great now and no more guessing.

When I did mine I shortened a competition Engineering (Camaro) top crossmember and use 67 Camaro shocks with the top
bayonet style mount. The top nuts are now accessed through a hole inside the trunk. The hole is sealed of course. If I didn't point them out nobody would ever notice.

The crossmember was already set up to run the Camaro shocks. Though I did stagger the mounts and notch the crossmember to clear the 9".

These were the only factory shock I could find that was going to be short enough compressed.... My car sits pretty low (top of the rim 3/4" below the wheel opening).
