I'll be there, don't miss it for anything.
No Nova again this year.
Probably be in my brothers 69 Camaro convertible or his 55 Chevy truck.
Pictures of them are in my Webshots gallery.
We have club parking, don't know where yet.

We will be there all week, rented a house on Ormand Beach, will be driving my 63 from middle Ga. just over 350 miles and getting 23 MPG on HWY, this will be our 12 year in a row, hope to see everybody there, lets all try to meet one day or night, we go to the BEL AIR plaza every night, the parking lot is packed so get there early, maybe we all could get a STEVES T-shirt so we would be easy to identify if were not by our cars. Any takers?????? check my bucket for photos of my ride http://s86.photobucket.com/albums/k94/jfrenzjr/

Cool guys I'm not sure if I am going yet or not but it looks like I might be. I wish I could take my 66 but not this year. I'll have my 06 Mazda 30mpg :o Kinda sad our 40 year old cars get almost as good gas milage as new ones huh.

I hoped to debut my Chevy II at this years Run. I don't think I'll make it. I quess it will have to be the SpringFling in March. I'm wearing my Tshirt this year. It would be nice to put some faces with screen names. SRNONI I hope you do have that girl up there, she is smokin. You send me that picture, it will be my new screensaver.

I live in Daytona so I will be there in my 73 Ventura. I think it was the only Ventura there last year and it wouldn't supirse if it is again this year.

Anybody that's going to Daytona want to park in a club parking area?
I have a couple extra parking spots from our group.
This is the best way to attend the show because you can park in the same spot everyday and not deal with general parking.
It will cost you $5.00 more for the pass.

This will be my first time going to the Turkey Run since I moved to Florida. Does anyone know what the best day to go is? I have a laundry list of things I'm looking for and I'd like to get there before it gets picked over.

Thanks,
Vince

Friday is the best day to hit the swap meet, the crowd is about half the size as Saturday.

Yeah, Friday is the better day. Get there EARLY. Note the vendors that are already there Thursday and shop around during Thursday and early Friday and will buy up some items from the small guys who just show up to sell what they have. Then of course these vendors sell them items at a much higher price. I do a lot of swap meets here in Fl and Ga and advise you to hit it early and start walking as fast as you can looking only for chevy II/nova iems first. Dont stop to browse at other items that you are not looking to "buy" now and especially the "new" items at vendor sapces, they will be there later. J&W Nova, Chevy2 Only, Year One usually are there every year for new parts along with some smaller chevy II national vendors. It will take you approx. 3 hours just to "walk" the swap area with limited stopping along the walk. If you can,go on line and copy the map of the swap meet/vendor area, or pick one up at the gate. You'll note the spaces/iles are numbered and the map reflects these numbered that are painted on the pavement. I usually mark down the number location on the map where a specific item is if I want to return to it later rather trying to remembering where it was. After looking for the chevy II and related "used" stuff, I will then start back and take my time browsing other items and the new vendors. Believe me you can loose buying that used chevy II item that may be just ahead in a near-by ile by spending too much time looking at the new stuff which will be there at the end of the day. It usually takes a day just to view all the swap vendor areas. Then a day to view the show cars etc. You may want to allow that second day for Sat. just to view all the show cars etc that are there.
Oh yeah, wear some REALLLL comfty shoes, sunglasses, and be ready for the longggg walk that will see if you are really in shape. Good luck...Phil
PS, I just finished the weekend at the swap/car show in Moultrie Ga, stopped at Summit Racing in McGogough ,Ga.late Sunday, and today I'm in Atlanta. Plan on riding up to Year One later Tues. Thursday I'm be back in Tampa, and Fri ride over to Daytona...To walk the Turkey Run. I think I'm in good shape for a sixty year old...Phil

If you are looking for specific new items, call some of the vendors hopalong mentioned, they don't take all of their inventory but they will throw it on the truck for you to pick up at the run saving you shipping costs.

Well I must say, this event lived up to the hype. We woke up at 5am and drove the 2 hours north, stayed all day, and just got back at 6:00. I have NEVER seen so many parts and vendors in my life. I totally blew my budget and I think that I'm on a first name basis with the parts hauler guys. I got so much stuff, so if any of you are looking for any hard-to-find items for a 68-72, I now probably have it in my garage.

Thanks for suggesting this. We had a great time! :D

I need to sleep now...

I hope all of you who got to the Turkey Run had a good time and those who needed some stuff for the car found something. Any good finds out there?
I got some Pypes mufflers, disc sanding and body supplies, some 57 parts.
Seen a loot of novas. Seen some that needed some TLC detailing and others that were in great condition. Anyone see the 66 white SS over in the Air Ride booth.

Yes it is sad. A long time ago, I had a 64 Malibu SS with a 230 4-speed that got 30 MPG highway and 24 MPG City. The only mods were a V8 exhaust pip and muffler, Offenhouser Intake and a Holly 450 CFM 4bbl. The carb as bought was calibrated for a 454 and I down sized the primary jets a couple of sizes. Though not fast, it was respectable
