Fraser Valley Swap Meet

Anybody planning on attending the Fraser Valley Swap Meet at Abbotsford Exhibition Park this weekend? This isn't as big as the Cloverdale/Tradex Swap, but it's a good time. Friday, Sep 15th 4-9PM and Sat 8AM - 4PM. There's a show & shine Saturday 10AM - 2PM. $3 includes entry to the swap meet. I'm planning to go Saturday with the L79 to do the show & shine and the swap meet at the same time. I think Henry (65SD) might be there, too.

The swap meet was not much to speak off. At least nothing that was of much interest to me.
The mini Show & Shine was not bad. Met Bob & Frank, who both had their cars there. I had a good time.

I agree with Henry. This used to be a big swap meet, but over the past 3-4 years has been getting progressively smaller. Now that the Cloverdale Swap Meet has moved to Tradex at Abbotsford Airport, this September event may disappear. I think the ease of buying/selling on the internet and Ebay will mean the end of many swap meets. It's too bad, because these are social events as much as anything else. Can't sit down and swap stories with your buddies over a hot dog and coke on a computer.

I read that there was a swap meet at Kwantlen in Langley on the sunday after the Cruise in show.... Maybe that's why the Abby show has had a smaller turnout.

Now that you mention it Dan, I heard there was going to be a swap meet the day after the Langley Cruise. It certainly could have affected this past weekends Abbotsford meet, although it's been slipping for the past few years.
