Im debating taking the Nova to Goodguys coming up Sept 30. The frame, engine, and underside are all nice but the exterior paint/seats are kinda ratty, its still under construction. Just wondering if there are many if these type of cars at this show or not, I thought it would be a fun day out there.

I have gone several times in the past, and have never seen an "under construction" car in the main venue. I have seen cars that were "original" paint and interior, and did not look real good, so I say go for it!

BTW, what are the dates for this years show?

I say bring the car....for me it is looking at all the hard work people have done and are still in the process of doing...although it is nice to look at the high dollar restos or ultra pricey customs....some of us have to do things at a much slower pace working around our budgets and the time to work on the car. For me it is the craftsmanship and attention to detail that I like in the high dollar cars...but at the same point I like the craftsmanship and the story behind cars still in the process of being built. I cant afford to send my car out to a shop to have it done...there is no joy in that for me...I prefer the hands on approach...that and I cant afford to send it off to have someone do the work for me.

I say go...

I have been to a couple of Goodguys shows, and have seen some cars half done. It isnt a problem, as long as you have money they will be fine with your car. They are good shows, but last year when I took my car there it cost 65 bucks. And you have to go to some other place to register first befor you can get in the show, usually they do it at some fancy hotel, kind of a pain in the butt, because the hotel parking lot is too small to begin with. But once you are there, its a good time.

I went to the one in Loveland, CO this year. There were all kinds of cars there. Half-finished to Six-figure cars. Great show, but man, it was huge. I never got to them all. :D

You can park just about anywhere you want on the show grounds. Some spots are better than others.

In the past, registration was in portable building on the south end of the speedway, near the entrance to the tunnel that leads to the infield.

You will see all types of vehicles, in all phases of completion and/or restoration. One man's junker is another man's pride-and-joy.

Have not yet decided if I am going.

I've been to GG at Kansas Speedway... youll see everything there, from rat rods to checkbook rides. It isnt exactly cheap ($65 like above) but it's worth it if you have at least 2 days to devote to it (most shows are 3 days).

Also, one cool thing about the Kansas show is that they let you cruise the track (behind a pace car of course)

That's how my car has been going for 3yrs. now. I will be there for 4days so I can see it all. There is suppose to be a hangout from 6-8 down the road fri. nite. I don't even look at the all chrome/billet crap.

I was looking forward to going (it would have been my 1st GG), but it conflicts with a race I'm going to in E-town

Have fun everyone, and post lots of Nova pics! (Especially wagons!)

I went last year, 70 nova, pre-register online or at the Doral tesoro hotel across the street from the speedway. If you go on Saturday need to go very early as the good parking spots are taken up QUICK!! Hope to see you there!!

I'll be in my wagon. I put the stock wheels and tires back on it. It sure doesn't look like it would have a nine inch, 4 wheel disc, and stroker motor in it!:D
