"Shades of the Past" Pigeon Forge, TN

Who's planning on attending the shades of the past event. Dad and myself are going to make the trip. Not taking any cars but just to take in all the great atmosphere. I've heard there is a big swap meet during this event....Can anyone give any info on that. I went to the fall rod run and it was a show at the grand hotel but only new parts and vendors, no used stuff. Hope we have a good showing from folks on this board. cya. Jason

The swap meet is huge! It is kinda hard to find because it is not on the strip. It is off on a side street. i found it last year by a sign. Have fun.

I have been the last 3 years but I will miss it this year. The show is real cool. The top ten has always got some of the baddest cars I have ever seen. The swap meet is at the show. Just ask anyone how to get there and they can point you to it. I would go early (7 or 8 am) parking is a little tight if you go later than 10 or 12.

Sorry I haven't posted sooner but my internet has been down I am leaving at 5:30 in the morning driiving the DEUCES HIGH up there look for me during the day in the show and later each day on the streets cruising.

I will be there from Florida on Thursday.....Sorry to say without my car or the girl ..:( :( :( .., but with air line tickets from Tampa to Nashville for less than $ 100 round trip, I could not pass it up.

Just got home, gosh...there were thousands of cars there. Friday was the best day of the show. It was mostly streetrods and from what I saw last year, there will be mostly muscle cars there at the rod run next week. Very good event and i'm glad i got to see all the kewl cars. Lots of kewl novas there too.

I got home from the show last night about 2 in the morning and I live about 40 minutes from Pigeon Forge. Man I had a blast up there. Enjoyed cruising the Deuce around. Except for the one time that the local finest thought they would pick on me:rolleyes: . I will be up there this coming Friday for sure but will most likely miss Satuday due to my oldest having her 16th Birthday bash that afternoon but I may try to slip out a little early if she gives me the OK. Around here the kids rule the roost.
Oh yea speaking of ROOST I did see JR :eek: on Friday night and got to talk to him abit on the phone Sat.

I tried to find ya Sat and Sun but there were so many people and cars there I was lost. I ain't never seen that many cars in one place . Drool everywhere:D

JR you think it was bad last weekend you should come back this weekend. It will bee bumper to bumper from one end of town to the other. About 5 miles of 6 lanes worth of cruisin' .

I saw you cruising a couple of times but I never did see you in the daytime. I did meet JR Saturday and he said he had talked to you. I don't know if I will make it back up this weekend or not. There were a lot of nice Nova's there last week and I'm sure there will be plenty this week. If I don't make it up, have fun and don't let the police harrass you too much.:p
