I have 2 windshield seals hat I have tried to install and I am having trouble installing the reveal mldgs so they line up. The winshield installs fine, just the mlgds don't install properly. The seal doesn't want to follow the shape of the upper mldg. Any suggestions on what others have done to correct this problem.

Hi Glen,

Maybe your new windsield is a little longer than the original one, if you pull the new one back out compare with your old one for lenght because your stainless moldings should over lape a bit.

p.s car looks HOT:D

If this is the front windshield then it's the rubber that's too short. We tried 2 different fron windshield seals on the sons' 66 2-dr HT, first was bad (can't remember the name) and the SoffSeal fit better, though short in the upper corners (chrome sticks out further than the rubber). I've heard that Steel Rubber fits the best.

My fit from softseal is exactly the same on my 67. It is short in the corners and the moulding does not hide the open space left in the corners.
I thought Steele did not make windshield gaskets for 67 hardtops but only for sedans. Or do I have it backwords?

Steele only makes a seal for the sedans and not the hardtops. I had a guy from Standard Auto Glass put the windshield in and he had a heck of a time with the mouldings and there is still a gap at the top. He's going to come back and see if he can do some manipulating to see if he can get it to fit better.

Glenn, does your windshield leak? Mine leaks very bad. I'm going to have to pull it out and re-install it. I was hoping to get a better gasket then the Softseal one that's in it now.

Gobs: don't know yet if it will leak. I just had the windshield installed but still have to install the side windows before I give the car a wash. From what I've heard, I'll be crossing my fingrers and hoping for the best.
