After removing the lower control arm on one side, grinding away a lip on my subframe for the brakets, scratching lots of paint and tons of swearing I finally got it in but now it is aprox 1/16" away from my balancer. I currently have a stock 7.5" one on now. Is this a common problem? Can I get a smaller balancer? (spend more money:mad: ) Any suggestions?

If there is room you could shim the brackets down just enough to clear the balancer. It would need to be like a pc of flat stock completely under the whole bracket. I am running a Hotchkiss 1 1/8 hollow bar with no clearance issues at all with my stock 8" balancer. What type bar are you using?

It's actually a 1 1/4 from Suspension Techniques. When I called the classic parts dealer I use I ordered a 1 1/8". When I picked it up he told me this is what all the first gen camaro guys get. I figured it would work even though it was a little excesive. The shim fix would probably be the easiest and cheapest, it was too late last night to think of something so simple, guess it comes apart again. Thanks Dave.
