I got the ok from Admin. to print the logo to make windshield signs. I need to know by 9/2/06 who's coming to the show so I know how many to make and bring with me. I will not charge anything for these but if you would like to donate for materials when I get there that's cool if not that's cool too, you will still get one. What money is extra from the supplies I will send to the site. Just post here and I will check daily to see who's coming.

I am signed up for the show.
It is looking like I should have 2 cars at the show.
My wife said she would drive my 74 down  .
She does not trust the 63 Wagon. It is alot different of a ride than a 3rd gen.
Now I have to get it really for the 2 plus hour drive.
We will come up with a time for everyone here to meet both days at the show.
See everyone there.

The windshield signs and the website sign design is done. The windshield signs you will get when you reigister, the StevesNovaSite sign (same as back of t-shirt) you will have to come see me for those. They ended up costing Nada, Zip, 0, so I don't worry about money for donations instead give them to the site if you wish to do so.

Okay guys, I really appreciate all the hype over long distance hauler. I did get the registration in the mail yesterday, so you will see it soon. I'm not sure of the parameters set for long distance but in the interest of full disclosure you will see from the registration form that I will be driving the diesel dually and car and parts will be in the enclosed trailer. IMO this should disqualify me as a long distance hauler and hopefully that distinction will go to someone driving a Nova to the event.
My wife and I look forward to meeting many new friends and seeing some old ones at the same time. thanks for the invite!

Well, looks like I will still be there but the '65 will not. After a long weekend in the garage, it is still not ready for the road. I thought about spending evenings thrashing on it to get it ready, but then I remembered that this is a hobby, and it is supposed to be fun. I am riding down in my Dad's '70 and taking my time getting my car together rather than stressing over a deadline. :)

Well, it's almost here guys. Just a few notes and thoughts:
The hotel will be keeping the swimming pool open this year. That should make klife easier for those of you that have kids or wives coming.
Also, John Truman is planning some friday night activities. There are a few sites for a cruise. One place is Stewarts, one is a local car museum and the other place is Johns shop. There is also a pool table at the hotel some people plan to take advantage of.
Parking lot security looks to be covered for both nights also. Thanks John!
72Orange
12th-September-2006, 10:14 PM
Just to clarify/correct a few things from my previous post:
John Truman is not doing security, but from what he told me it sounds like all the shifts are covered by one person or another.
Security is arranged for friday and saturday night, not thursday night.
The pool table is NOT at the hotel, it is off site. I will try to find out how far away it is and exactly what kind of establishment it is.
72Orange
13th-September-2006, 10:41 AM
OK...
Stewarts and the pool hall (no alchol) are about 2 miles away from the hotel.
John's shop and the museum are right next to each other and they are about 4 to 5 miles from the Hotel.

Steve, I know how you feel. I am hopefully getting my 74 back today from my body guy. When I talked to him on Monday he said he did not think he had enough time. He wanted to give me the car back without finishing the tail light panel. I told him that I would not even bothered to have any work done if it could not be finished before the show. I showed up at the shop on Tuesday to help him get the back bumper off. I talked to him yesterday afternoon and he said the paint is wet. I just hope it stops raining.
I don't know if it will help, but maybe you should go down in person and see if you can speed it up. He has been working on your interior for more than 2 months. There is no excuse for that.
Good Luck and see you at the show.

Actually there is a good excuse... he had back surgery to repair 4 herniated discs 5 weeks ago and finished our seats 2 days before his operation. He was in such pain... i felt bad for him. He is now back to work and trying to catch up. I have the car, he just has the 4 door panels. He made templates before his operation. I know he'll get them done... hes my #1 guy right now... His interior work truely finishes my cars off. I think everything except the headliner will be completed in time. We're going panels or not... :D

Thanks Jay, I had to take my carb off the 74 last night. When I had my neighbor help me with it last week. We used an older carb kit and the one gasket was different. Of course I threw out the old gasket. I had to make a small piece out of another gasket to clog my vacume leak . I was able to fix it quick and still got to go to dinner. I put off cleaning the cars because of the rain. I never got to paint/undercoat the bottom of the 74 so I don't care about the rain. I really don't want to drive the wagon on wet roads, but I am not going to be a wimp. I will be there with 2 cars.
See you guys SOON

Here are 2 pictures from the show the rest will come later.
1st I would like to say thanks to Steve for this site that we all use and for the ability for us to get together and meet each other at car shows or whatnot. I met some great Nova people from the show this weekend.

BTW... since I did not really get to talk to everyone from the site, identify yourself in the "members" picture above.
I am the guy standing second row on the far right of the photo. I got to meet many of you, but there are a few in the photo that I did not meet. Let's put some names to all those faces! :D

OK, here's some pics. First of all I am looking to put together a CD with as many pictures from the show as possible. So, can anyone that wouldn't mind mailing me a CD with all the pictures you took please send me an e-mail at delvalnovas@comcast.net ? I would greatly appreciate it.
OK ... here's a pic of the flag salute. It was very touching and appropriate with the patriotic songs that were played. Actually, there was one in the morning with a fire truck, and one in the afternoon led by a 78 Nova Police Car. I think I head that that Police Car belongs to Wayne Bushey. Can anyone correcte me on that?

Here is our Chapter Choice. It's a 70 Turbo. It is beautiful. It also one NNN's Modified Pick.

The hotel was kind enough to let a few of us up on the roof to get a cool perspective on things. A few of us have cars that kindsa stand out a bit. :D

I am in the last row to the right wearing a yellow jegs hat. I had a great time!! The 5 hour drive was well worth it. Nothing like a all Nova show. I am looking forward to next years show. Hat's off to all the people that made it all happen. I have pictures also that I will be posting.

I confess to being in the back row of the first picture, on the right of the tall member (Bruce) in the middle.
In the second picture, I am the member on the far right, holding my Long Hauler trophy pointing down.
I had a great time meant some great people and picked up a few very good parts.
Sunday, my wife and I walked the Boardwalk prior to departing and we enjoyed that very much. We left at 5:00pm on Sunday and spent the night in Carlisle, PA. We arrived home at 8:00pm Monday night.
Total trip was 5 days, 3 of which were in Atlantic City and 1500 miles driven.

I was the long hauler!!
It was great to have you come to the show. Your Canadian version was a real treat for all of us to see. Sorry you had to sit out for the begining (because of your truck/trailer). My wife and I are in the bottom row of the first pic... I sorta grew some "horns" on my head :)
