admin 5th-August-2006, 10:12 AM I know this is a fastball, but I wanted to inform everyone that I will be taking the board offline sometime today for a software upgrade. If I don't run into any problems it should be offline for about a hour.
The new software was just sent out and for security reasons I want to get this upgrade done before I depart on Tuesday.
Sorry for the inconvenience...

It appears to let you tag more than one message at a time (the button turns red when you click on it), then when you click on the "Quote" button to reply to the thread, it inserts the text from each of the multi-quoted message into your reply.
Neato feature. :)

Thanks, I will or should I say we will... Because Sandie and I are both deploying on the tour of duty, except I depart 10 days earlier. She returned home just last August.
Nova_Guy 5th-August-2006, 09:43 PM Thanks, I will or should I say we will... Because Sandie and I are both deploying on the tour of duty, except I depart 10 days earlier. She returned home just last August. My wife and I are both AD USAF and what a pain that can be. We have been lucky that we haven't had to deploy at the same time. We came real close one when our son was only about 9 months old. Lucky for us her boss took her slot and saved the day. If you are headed for Bahgran AB my boss is there right now. If you are heaed there let me know I'll give you his name. You can stop in and say Aye.
NIGHTSHADE 5th-August-2006, 10:31 PM Just noticed, the "Welcome" page is black now, not blue. Kinda strange!

admin 5th-August-2006, 11:27 PM Just noticed, the "Welcome" page is black now, not blue. Kinda strange!
I was messing around, but it was maroon. I just changed it back to a shade of blue, but I'm trying to work on a new front page setup with new images. Maybe with all my spare time in the next six months (not)... :D
NIGHTSHADE 5th-August-2006, 11:44 PM Maroon, Blue, whats the differance?? I guess I look at the cars more then the background anyway!!

the FLYER 7th-August-2006, 01:14 AM i hope all youse guys noticed i LET ya bag on me... instead of me replying with supreme whit and humor ta slam yer doors ;) i let ya have yer fun... baggin' on Poor Ol' Johnny  :D :D :D
here's something for everyone... in regards to the "Mini-Quote" if in the thread you see a member's used the mini-quote and you'd like to read the full post by the quoted member... click on the arrow inside the mini quote area and it'll automatically return you to the post in question...
check it out, you'll know what i mean...
also, another item i find of interest. prior to the upgrade when a member PM's you and you get the E-Mail notification... the E-Mail would state you have a PM from so and so, but ta visit the site to read it... Now, after the upgrade the contents of that PM is included in the E-Mail message...
Also...
i notice a CERTAIN Moderator's found a handy trick for Mods only  ... i received a "Bad Post" report. i know it's a joke and i could care anywho (he was testing the system... so HE says ;) )... but as an option that the Mods have now is instead of getting all involved in explaining/asking "Hey what'd ya do that for ???" when an issue arises, they have the option to send a more "generated" reply to the member letting them know an infraction of the rules has occured. and your reputation will be duely noted... your own infractions can be seen in your profile. i don't know if my infractions can be viewed by other members or if only by me and Mods... maybe if this function is used in a judicial fashion, less issues of heat will occur by repeat offenders... and i guess if a situation is repeated over and over again, the Admin and Mods will have the history right in front of them... maybe a time out would be a required measure if reputation reports are of a serious and repeated nature... i dunno... maybe we can as members ask the Mods or Steve ta explain the thoughts on some of these...
my thoughts on this, if i may...
i see this as all good. i think it's going to make the judicial duties of the Moderators much much easier. for us members too in a way. by having a system such as this the Mods won't have to rely on memory of the last time something got going. sometimes enough is enough and action is needed. to make it a good place for everyone rules are needed... they're all meant ta be BENT at times, as there's always a time and a place... BUT, when someone is continually blatantly breaking the rules, i say YES a time out is in order... so i for one am in favor of the reputation or bad post or whatever it is... "report"...
i for one have a little knowledge on what these guys go through in the back room and i hope no one at the Site takes it lightly... the Moderators at Steve's all care very deeply about the Site and only try to do good things for all members as fair and as non-biased as possible... i think this is a good thing and will lessen the load greatly on the Moderators.
i hope the system is used properly and judiciously... ;) :D
and i found all this crap out and didn't NUKE a thing !!!
Johnny (i'm rather prouda m'self) OK, i was lucky ;) :D :D
