Ok, I found a yard in my town that has some parts cars for 'Old Blue'. I grabbed the bumper extension and the rubber piece that goes between the rear bumper and the body.

I also found a nova that has factory cruise control....at least it looks factory to me. I am going to be grabbing that next time I go out there. I also found a pretty decent dash pad for the '78 and instrument housing, need that as well. Also going to be pulling the steering column out of that console car, I like to have those because then you don't have the potrusion of the shifter handle when you install a console. Yeah, picky with minor things, but might as well go with it. I have a console steering column in Old Blue now but the turn signal cam doesn't work. Something is off on the adjustment. The column I'm pulling is a tilt wheel for a console car.

Somebody was looking for the chrome pieces around the doors, there is a car with those out there, holler if you still want them. I didn't pull the console out of the other car, wants too much for what I'm willing to pay for it, as I don't need one. If somebody wants it, I'll pull if for them, otherwise, not on my list right now.

Yep, progress is slow, but steady on Old Blue, this time next year you won't be able to recognize her.

If it is the factory cruise control, trace down and get all of the parts. This is not a complete list but get the speedometer cables and housings from the regulator to the tranny and from the regulator to the speedometer cluster, vaccum fittings off of the intake, vaccum hoses, firewall grommets, combination vaccum dump brake pedal switch, throttle pull linkage and brackets, and all of the nuts and bolts. I got one off of a donor car a few years back and just saw what was attached to what and took it all.

I too have looked and gotten floor shifted columns and you can modify the other style with the shifter handles on them by knocking out the retaining pin, cutting off the nub and filling the hole with 5 minute eopxy gel. Once it's sanded down and painted you cannot tell it was there.

I would get what parts you can or might not even use now. Here locally the steel prices have risen and a lot of yards are getting more by scrapping the cars than letting them sit for people to take parts off of and they are cleaning out the yards.

How much do they want for that console?
What color is it, is it for auto or standard?

Its a red automatic console. They want $75.00 for it. It includes the handle and cable but not the automatic shifter knob.

looks like this one, but red.

That's the same console in my car. I'd pick it up if I were you. You could turn it quick and make a little $ off it.
