62 Acadian Beaumont 2dr HT.
It's Porsch Red with a Silver/Blue Clearcoat, 5 lug 8.2 10 bolt posi. 2 sets of fenderwell headers, Moroso Oil Pan and Sump, Corvette Rallies trim rings and caps, new carpet.
This was an unfinished project that's been sitting in a shed for about 10 years. I was just going to start my 63 Nova SS build-up when I heard of this car for sale and couldn't pass it up. I got a GREAT deal on it.
I've got a 350/350 combo that's goin in, that ran 12.9's in an '85 Cutlass!

Looks like a real good start for any project you may want to do. There is a fellow here in Redding that has a 65 Acadian. I run into him at different shows and that Acadian is starting to grown on me. Good luck with your new toy.

acadianacadian, follow the link on the top thread then click 62 Acadian Beaumont for pics. I've got a 63 Acadian parts car that I found the letters laying in the car but I'm missing the "N".
I also love the grill on these cars. I can't wait to get it on the road!

The car with the snokle hood scoop has a 62 grille, 62 instrument cluster and 62 side trim.
The red car with no hood on it, has a 62 grille, 63 instrument cluster and it does not appear that either car has the 62 ACADIAN letters below the grille.
If either one of these cars is a Beaumont, it should have the fender ornaments on top, in the front and directly behind the headlight bezel.
Of course the year will be based on the cowl tag info but those are the years for the current trim pieces.

Hi Norm, I thought you'd chime in, you seem to be an Acadianaholic!
I checked the VIN on the orange drag car today (VIN 284370) does the 2 = 62. It's probably an Acadian only as the Gauge cluster does not have the clock in the center and the lower side trim only goes to the rear of the door. The Acadian letters that go under the grill were inside the car but I'm missing the "N". Are these letters on 62's only, because both cars have the holes for them.
The red car I just bought (VIN 284370) came with a document purchased from GM by a previous owner decoding it as a 62 Acadian Beaumont. The car had some trim holes filled but most are still there just not visible in most photos. The acadian letters are missing from this car but the panel has the holes for them still. The gauge cluster has the small clock (non Nova cluster) in the middle and the lower trim holes run the full length of the car but I'm missing the trim like the three 62 beaumonts in the following links.

WAY TO GO!!!!
Now for sure I have to come one evening to visit you and see your cars.
That cluster has me scratching my head. My 65 has a small clock too, but look at the gauges. I wonder if the early Acadians had Nova gauges and the later had unique ones, or has your right gauge pod been changed.
This 62 wouldn't have had a factory gauge cluster, would it? I thought only SD cars had gauges.
Here's pic of mine: (Ignore the red steering wheel, it's on there so the original can sit on the shelf in comfort!)

Ok, dug out the parts books and did some research!
Guages (oil, amp, temp, fuel) are the same for 63-65 SS and 63 SD. 65 SD gauges are unique to 65.
So, a 63 SD cluster has Nova gauges but a small clock. A 65 SD cluster has Acadian gauges and a small clock.
Learn something new every day.
Hey, I just noticed I have a different clock and speedo too!

I forgot the car also came with a 62-65 parts catalogue, a 62 shop manual and 63 shop manual supplement. I checked the VIN and 28437 is a 62 Acadian Beaumont 2 dr HT 6 cyl. So both of these cars are beaumonts. I also checked the trim for a 62 beaumont and the red car has the correct trim holes and emblems but the orange car's aren't correct. I can't find any info on the gauge clusters so that I'm not sure of.
Also, the two cars have different body #'s on the cowl tags.
Carl, whenever you feel like stopping by, just shoot me a PM.

I always thought beaumonts was pontiacs answer to chevelle. Acadian to me was canso and invader. Whats up?

Carl, In 1962 and 63 we are talking pre-chevelle.
1962 -- Acadians were built on the Chevy II chassis:
Invader was equal to Chevy II model 100 (cheapest)
Canso was equal to Chevy II model 300 (middle of the trim line)
Beaumont was equal to Nova 400 (top of the line)
1963 -- Same as 1962 except Sport Deluxe option was added equal to Super Sport option.
1964 & up -- Acadian Beaumont was born on the Chevelle chassis.
Acadian Invader & Canso were retained on the Chevy II chassis with Canso being the top of the line.
Chevrolet Dealers in Canada were selling both the Chevelle and ChevyII/Nova. Some (BOP) Buick/Olds/Pontiac Dealers in Canada advertised they sold, Acadian, Pontiac and Buick. Thus treating the Acadian as a separate line. Of course in the end, they were titled as Pontiacs.
