Must have had 50 guys point out my leaking car to-night, cause boy oh boy was it hot when I got to the DUB, 90F.

That darn air conditioning will leak for at least 40 minuets after you shut her off.
Todd was a no-show, the new Shawn pink/blue Nova was there minus the car, along with a red, and a black Nova.

Shawn sign in, and say hello to the CDN group here in BC.

HI All,
Good to see 68SSGrandpa again, a pity he behaved on his exit Thursday night :D

I have replaced both the fuel pump and the water pump which was leaking, and I thought also the sound.The knocking sound still persists. it is a loud dense knocking sound. That seems to eminate from the front of the block. May have to take to a shop as I am out of ideas, if it is internal then this gets out of my skill set. I live 2 blocks from A & W, may bring it over this Thursday, maybe some fellow Chevy people can give it a listen. Todd if your around maybe you can lend an ear :o

I put on sone new wheels and rubber:

It is still pink, but in a much more manly way with the wheels and tires :D

You can record a sound clip as well and post it, maybe it will be clear enough to get some suggestions as to what it is.
I am heading that way Thursday night, and hope to be in the Nova that night. If I am there, we can wait for Todd and a few others and listen to it.

I like the look of the new wheels, changes the car enough that I didn't blink at the pink anymore:D .

When I left the dub, I was at just a tad off idle@ 3,500, what you talkin about, I was a good boy, and resisted bouncin it off the 6,600 rev chip.:beat:

There is al ot of other sound that a sound clip will mask, so it is tough to isloate the sound. I will be there Thursday, hopefully some experienced ears can point me in the right direction.

I'll be there tonight(around 7pm)..........i'll look for ya..........sounds like a loose rocker? bent pushrod? timing chain slap? Hard 2 tell in the video clip. Try removing the alt belt to see if its bearing/water pump related.Grab a old broom handle and use it as a stethascope(sp)........nice ride by the way!!

Fixed the knock, it was an exhaust leak. The header bolt closest to the firewall on the passenger side was loose. It took ages to make minute adjustments to tighten, due to how restricted the access to the bolt was.

Hey guys, busy packing. Have to be out of my place by 12 noon friday. Glad you fixed the problem Shawn. You might want to try the copper header gaskets. Anyone know of any cloning devices I can borrow? 2 of me would get all my stuff done so I can come and play. I have to pick up a 5 ton around 330-4pm today. If I can get most of it packed tonite, and I still have time I wiil try to stop by.

My kids loved the event. My daughter looks all too comfortable behind the wheel. 3 more years and she will be driving, uh oh. :eek: My son loves all the people and their cars

Yet another great turnout at A & W, met Jim (I think his name) with his 68, great paint reference for good price. Great to see you again Pat. I misb'haved when leaving, just a little. Got a " I knew it"!! from Janine. Guess the extended warm up prior to leaving was a give away :) Dont for get your Hawaiian shirt if coming this Thursday. Aloha.
