When I bought my Nova it had been smashed in the rear and now I have gotten things straighted out. Just wondering if the lower part of the tail light is supposed to be above the bumper or tucked in just behind the bumper. I tried to get away with having my brackets straighted but i might have to get new ones. Hope this makes sence:confused: .

Greetings,

The tail lights are located above the bumper...I don't have a pic of the rear of my car or I'd show you what I'm talking about! I'm sure somebody here on the site has a shot of the back of their car so you can figure out how yours should look.

the bottom edge of the tailight bezel is tucked behind the bumper. i had to take my bumper off to get the tailight housings out. thats how my 72 was anyway, never wrecked in the rear.

The bottom of the tail light should be level with the top of the bumper. You have to remove the bumper becuase the housings have to come straight out of the tail panel, which is at an angle.
