I will have on display a prototype dash bezel from Covans for the 4th Generation Novas (77-79) at the Nova Nationals. It will not have gauges in it but I will have color copies (to scale) from Autometer taped on so all will see how it will be laid out. For those who can't make it to the Nationals here is what it will look like. Feed back or questions are welcomed just email me at ss78@verizon.net so I can foward to Covans. It should be ready for sale between October and the end of the year.

lookin good.

not sure I'd buy one due to costs, especially on a 77-9 that already has the round guage holes ( easily filled with aftermarket guages ?)

Playing with my Phoenix dash now ( very similar to the Covan layoutwise, actually ), fitting a factory 77 Z28 tach in place of the clock.

GREAT seeing more gen 4 parts though .. bring em on :)

Looks good and would get the gauges out from under the dash. Have you set a price?

That is up to them. I am just helping them out for test fitting and giving them feedback. If I had to guess it might be around the same price as the other Nova Clusters.

I know it's small detail, but it would be great if the radio portion was more compatible with current style radios. Anytime I see a new style radio in a 3rd or 4th gen dash, the dash looks hacked up.

I have the 69-74 Covans in my 76 and where the Radio goes it is blank so I was able to mount a new style Radio in there as if it was factory, Oh and just so all you 75 and 76 4th Gen guys know the 74 back one works in them

I just had a guy email me yesterday that says he's making door panels for his 4th Gen and is looking to offer them through my site. He's supposed to be sending some pics so hopefully they'll be available throught Gen4-eSwap very soon.

I think it looks good! I was thinking that was 76 and earlier at first til I got to looking at it better. If the price is anything like Classic Industries for the 76 and earlier, it may be tough to sell to those of us that can't afford those high dollar parts.

You could always do what I'm doing with my SS. I don't have A/C, but decided to take an A/C dash pad, knock out the center vent and my Sony X-plod fits perfectly in it, I just have to make a support bracket for the back side which will actually be pretty simple. I haven't actually mounted it yet, was thinking about doing that tomorrow and I will post pics once I do. I'm doing that because I don't want to cut up my uncut bezel and am actually planning on either mounting an original AM radio back in it or fabbing a delete plate for it.

I agree 110% - if it's non-stock already, why not make it for modern din-style radios, would open up many more choices for Audio .

we'll likely see door panels soon - as they're not too hard to make up.

of course, unless you're looking for stock / restoration doorpanels, custom styled ones are easy to do, I can do them myself at the upholstery shop, if anyone needs any / wants to be a quinea pig, lol .
