Is there any way we can embed videos in a thread entry? Not links, but truely embeded videos.

www.youtube.com provides embed code so we can use the video on our website. The beauty of it is that we don't eat up our bandwidth!

I've also started embedding some video in my emails the same way.

Any thoughts on this? Here's an example:

All that would be needed is for admin to turn on HTML in posts. The question is, what's the great advantage of having a clip load in the page? Why not just link to it? If I was on dialup, I wouldn't want to wait for a video to load, just to look at a thread. On the other hand, I think that very few people would bother to do it, so having video-packed threads is probably not a danger.

I agree, the dial-up crowd would be at a disadvantage...but I don't think it would be overly used. It's just that I'd like to take advantage of this so I don't need to go to another site to look at the great videos these guys post here...and youtube.com is very easy to use (upload, link, embed, etc.).

Maybe a beta test is in order?
