75 Grille w/Clear Parking Lights?

I've been seeing a trend of 75 grilles lately that have clear parking lights and these people are claiming them to be a rare option and trying to charge ridiculous prices for the grille because of it. I believe it's BS and someone just had them made up because they couldn't find the originals.

Maybe someone else can clue me in to the facts on this. Any ideas? To the best of my knowledge all the 75 grilles had amber lenses.

Or were there actually clear lenses for the SS maybe?

The 78 I just got has clear lenses with some sort of fancy lookin scrolls on them.

Yeah, those would be Custom/Concours lenses.

Has a "C" on them, right?

Ive noticed some pretty steap prices on alot of stuff now that Im lookin around and I guess thats fine if youre spending the money for a true correct restoration. Myself, Im just wantin to put together an ok driver. $60-80 for new door sill scuff plates? Yeah, I just spent 15 minutes with chrome polish and steel wool to make my banged up ones good enough.

I sold a set of lights off a 1975 custom and they were amber from the factory.

Yeah, and as time goes by they'll probably get even worse as these people and companies realize the 4th Gens aren't just a thing of the past anymore. I finally started production on SS/Rally parking lights and will also be doing taillight housings and lenses very soon. Figured I'd try to get a jump start on reproduction parts for the 4th Gen since these parts aren't reproduced anywhere, and anyone that has originals either want to keep them or want too much. Supply and demand is the name of the game though, and right now supply is limited to used parts and a few repro's. Within the next 6 months you'll be seeing quite a few parts become available through Gen4Novas.

The CLEAR 1975 park lights are factory and were used on the LN Nova ONLY.

I think I have a pair someplace, and , yes, that would make them quite rare, although for a bunch to show up all of a sudden sounds like maybe a small NOS find was made ?

75 SS used the standard amber lenses, not sure why.

then of course 76 SS started the whole SS/ Rally grille - although ,personally, I really DO like the look of a nice blacked out stock 76-78 grille with the 76 concourse clear lights.

Cool, so they were for LN. A local friend was thinking the same thing, but we weren't sure.

The one's I've been seeing aren't correct then. One set is on a 75 SS grille, actually probably an LN grille somebody blacked out. The other set may have been an LN chromed grille.

First time I've ever seen them though, so it kind of threw me off.

Yep, that's one of the one's I was talking about. I contacted him yesterday about it being NOS, and an SS with LN parking lenses and asked when he bought it and what happened to the box if it's NOS, but haven't heard back yet. Description says he bought it NOS with very rare clear SS lights. That's pretty much the whole description and if you contact him about it he won't reply. He did reply to my request for the brackets, and said he only had one which also leads me to believe it's BS. Probably know's he's been busted! lol

I'm thinking he just found a nice grille on an LN, painted it black and stuck an SS emblem on it. It does look like a nice grille and lights, but can't tell by the pictures if the top is flaking or just reflection and he won't send better pics of it either. I bid on it at first, but reserve still hasn't been met at $103.50 and I just sold one a few months ago just as nice with amber lights for $135. I'm thinking his reserve is around $150 or maybe more.

That's not any worse than the 75 NOS on there for $425 BIN. lmao
