OK I am going to install a floor auto shifter without the use of a console in my 75 Nova. Although I do wish I had a console but none to be found...I am torn between the B&M "Megashifter" and the "Quicksilver". Anyone sold on either of these and why?
Thanks

I have the quicksilver in my car now. I also had a 69 Camaro years ago that had a Megashifter. Honestly, to me there isn't much difference, the design and function are similar. I changed the ugly round handle on my quicksilver to a T handle though.

I like the pro stick. Looks less obtrusive and obnoxious.

Have a "Hammer Shifter" in mine. I like it, but I've never used a Quicksilver or Megashifter, so I can't really compare those to it.
I imagine they all work pretty similarly, just depends on the look you want.

I have a Mega Shifter in the box that I;ve yet to install - pending possible 4 speed conversion.
However, we had a Starshifter in our 69 and very happy with that.
Priceing seems similar, so depends on features you want.
difference - correct me if wrong, as noted the megashifter is unused - but the megashifter ratches both up and down, where as the starshifter works like a regular detent shifter, until the lever is pulled and you move it all the way back, then it ratches forward one gear when smacked forward.
no missed shifts, easy to work, although we did have a handle break off ours after a few seasons - blaming bad metal though, I never saw one break off from abuse before.

Greetings,
I run a Megashifter and it works great...ratchets through the gears just fine and no trouble at all.
