Have the original owners name and plate on a 71 Motion ZL/X Corvette that went to Canada in the early 70's.This car was painted by Tony Battaglia of Batt Auto body in NJ for Joel Rosen.Car went to Toronto Canada.I know its a old plate number I have but is there any way to run it to check if it is still registered? I have pictures of the car and details of mods done to it. Also whats a good peoples search to run in Canada? Unusual last name too...Any help would really be appreciated !! Thanks in advance! Dan

Do you have the serial number?

Using canada 411, I came up with
Rosen, Joel
40 Orchard Cres
Etobicoke, ON M8Z 3E1
(416) 233-8552

If in fact this person was/is canadian.

Use the last name, you'll find realitives that way.

Not sure about other provinces, but I just did some searching on my Acadian. Maybe with the serial no. as mentioned. Because the plate never stays with the car here, the only way I tracked previous owners was using the name of a past owner off a document found in the car.

And also I have a contact in an insurance office as well.
Good luck.

If you have the vin you just might be able to get info...what you do is go to the Ministry of Transportation site (MOT) and order the used car kit....fill it in pay the fee and submit it...they should be able to find a bunch of info on it...including the names of the previous owners....:)

The purpose of the vin search is to research the previous history of the car. This is to aid a potential buyer in purchasing the car. Either the seller or (potential) buyer can pay $20.00(?) and get the information on the spot. I'm not sure how far back the history goes though since I've never seen one for an older car. We do have strong privacy laws except when it comes to vehicle purchases and it seems lately anybody who is a Sympatico(internet provider) user.
