If I register a Car,do I have to go the 4 days or can I go just One?I guess the Question is,Is Judging One day only?
It would be Hard for me to go for all 4 Days.

I have plans to go and bring my car. It is only 4 hrs away for me. Just came back from a car show today and drove my car 3hrs round trip. Ran beautifully. 22 mpg. Gave me the confidence I need to make the trip in my conv. Hope to see ya all up there. Look for my white 62. Probably the only one up there in white anyway. Just a thought, maybe we can all put some sort of sign on our cars with our stevesnovasite.com name on so we can identify each other.

My (Benjamin's :D ) '69 won't be there  I only worked on it 1 day this year so far :( I was able to strip off all of the paint, amazing what a straight razor blade in a pair of vise grips can do  Any free time I have will be spent prepping the Yenko for the jaunt to Baltimore.

was there much paint or was it the orginal paint on there,

YENKO DEUCE REG
10th-July-2006, 12:00 PM
No original paint under the body panels, it was stripped very well before the repaint. I did find some original paint on the cowl sides behind the fenders, so I cut a piece out and had it scanned. I have not sprayed it out yet, but will use it for the XT wheels. I found out from a relative of Elmo that the car was originally a rallye wheel car, so now I'm on the hunt!

I believe the car was sold new out of Sunderland Chev. in Lemoyne, PA, but was repo'd about 15 months later. After it went through Manheim auto auction, it was sold by a used car lot in Baltimore - and stayed in Maryland until I bought from ya.

I'll try to post some pics of the progress.

My Dad will be bringing his Evening Orchid ('65 GM color) '70 SS clone too (my daily driver back in 1990-1995 - used to be brown). Look for the purple Nova with the unique hood I helped him fabricate last month. ;)

Fortunately, I live about 1 hr away. I will likely only be able to make it on Saturday due to work obligations. My Dad may have his '70 there both Friday and Saturday. He is driving out from Pittsburgh with my Mom, but is planning to stay at our house and driving down each day.

I'll probably try to call and register soon. It will make it easier for them to plan parking spaces etc.

Hey, does anyone want to run over at Cecil County Raceway? It's almost exactly an hour away in Rising Sun, MD.

I was thinking about maybe heading up there on Friday night or Sunday for the brackets. Anyone game? This is assuming of course, that my car is running and driving successfully at that juncture.

It'll be a trial by fire for the Blue Light Special:):):)

Guys and gals,

you might want to check the local forcast because they are calling for 40% chance of rain this weekend. Plus, the temps will be in the 90's with a lot of humidity!!! Ensure all classic Chevy IIs and Novas radiators, air-conditioning systems, and drivers, are ready for this intense heat. Plus, keep and eye on your fellow gear-heads due to the high humidity...
Remeber this slogan.... "Hydrate or die!"

I am going to try and make it to my 1st event but, the car is not done. If I do go, I am definitely taking A LOT of PICTURES!!!!

SCW picked up a DG coded rallye wheel which is a one year only application for the '67 Camaro's - will go on a '67 Yenko Camaro, and was bought very reasonable. A nice power steering pump was had for less than $40, and I picked up 3 NOS marker lights for '70+ Novas - 2 of which were the real old ones in white vs. the gray - also very reasonable. So, the vendors were indeed few, but there were deals to be had ;)

The car count was pretty good considering the economy, I believe there were 120 +/-, the quality of cars was good.

Weather Was Hot, Some Very Nice Cars, Dissapointed In The Number Of Vendors, No Food Or Drinks Available Except For The Hotel, Was This Due To Hotel Rules? Would Have Liked To See A Snowball Stand At The Very Least. Was Going To Take The Kids With Me The Second Day, But There Was Nothing For Them To Do Unless You Were Staying At The Hotel And Could Get To The Pool.

YENKO DEUCE REG
1st-August-2006, 09:42 AM
Yea, the hotel rules prohibited the food/drink vendors from being set up. I believe that folks brought cases of drinks with them and had them up at the registration trailer. A drink could be had for a donation to the club. This way, the drinks were donated by the members, and available to everyone, with any $ donations put right into the club as well - works pretty slick!!

It was quite hot - especially on Thursday, but Nova people don't let a little heat get in the way of a good time :D We relaxed during the day, and then stayed up into the early morning hours BS'ing in the parking lot ;)

This was only my second Nats to take my Car to, I was at Harrisburg 5 years ago with it and I personally along with wife attended the Mini Nats at Carlise with the GM nationals and also attended Mini Nats in Texas. But any way I enjoyed myself very much. A group of us who tend to stick together (Delaware gang) Always have a blast together, The 67 SS of Bob White Yellow Tweety Bird Wagon of Rusty's and of Cousre my Black Pro Street, We tend to go to eat together and just sit together and are always open to nw comers, Last AC show we sucked in Russ with his Orange SS 78 (4gotten1) into our group mostly cause he is an excellent driver and likes Tatter Tats, He is now a very good friend to wife and I (THANKS AGAIN FOR INVITING US TO STAY AT YOUR HOME)
This show another was sucked in, he may not be everywhere we are but if he is i am sure he will be hanging with us, Krappy Karl as he is known on the e-mail list well he is a perfect fit for us. Any way I met a few people but not enough, Wish I had met more from here but Maybe AC. Again First Chapter did a great job and again thanks to them and also Thanks to all who may have voted for my car. My Nova is NOT a 100% show stopper but I like it, It is built for me by me and as a working man I feel it is a pretty cool ride, a ride that I drive and enjoy. Oh sorry Thanks all
