Let me ask you guys this, do you think THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4639903039&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) is a bunch of bull? I've tried to search these plates out and haven't found any comparison for them. And my interest is that in the shop I bought I found three of these that were new in the tissue paper. Yes, they're old but I highly doubt this guys claims. Anybody know any different?

So far he's got zero bids at $399.99 (with 20 minutes left to go).

That says something...

The exact same plate didn't sell last week for $499.00 either! Wonder where he got the $800 from. He does have a fine collection of cowl tags for sale in case you want to upgrade your car a bit. I'm thinking of converting my car to a 70 LS6 Chevelle convertable.

Well, I think he just lowered the price. Still alittle high for me tho. I like my 'USA-1' from paddock or somewhere like that.

None of those are the same plate that he has. I have the same ones and they came out of a dealership that closed in 82. They are definitly late 60s-early 70s. Raised letters and a silver outline around the letters. Also small-slots for the mounting holes. The later version (or aftermarket) have flat letters, no silver outline, and longers screw slots.

BUT......

400.00$ 300.00$? Are people becoming that gullible?

In the world of 1000.00$ clutch fans (That I have three also) and 200.00-plus coil mounts (did anybody catch that last year somebody sold a coil mount that was tilted back claiming it was for the 69 camaro cowl hood for over 200.00$) that are very common, and god knows what else, next thing we'll see people selling the old beer caps they find under the rug of a 67 chevelle claiming it was a original 67 Budwieser opened to cellebrate the release of the aluminum head option.......
