I have a 73 nova that has been basterdized (different drive train). The original switch for the backup lights was on the column and I believe it was originally a 3 on the tree. Right now there is a 4-speed saginaw transmission in it. Does anybody know how/where a backup light switch would be mounted for this transmission? Anybody know how the factory 4 speeds had their backup lights work?

Depending on the brand of shifter you have, it might mount on the main body of the linkage. I know the Hurst models have a switch you can buy that mounts on the linkage and activates when you shift into reverse.
