does anyone know where i can learn how to hook up remote controls to a car(said{another forum} '89 grand am)? i know a kid at church that's 13. he wants be a robotics engineer, but would he know anything at that age? {don't dare tell me how you hate engineers for not knowing how to use the data they learn, 'cuz i hear enough of that as it is.} you've probably guessed that i will get into trouble, no?

If you ever watch "mythbusters" on discovery they are always building remote control cars. You can see pretty clearly whats involved.Skull

usually they take off the steering wheel and attach a gear to the end of the steering shaft, then hook have another gear or chain on that gear attched to a motor that will turn the car. they have another motor thign attached to the throttle i think. i cant remember how they did the brakes.
Make sure you have a very open spot to operate the car, Also it probably wont be cheap to do it safely and right. Might be more work than its worth. JMHO
