Mine is nestled in the headers, less than 1/8" away and it's been going for years. hawk7745 9th-May-2006, 09:06 PM Mine was like that and I wrapped it in the insulation just to make sure and its been fine ever since chevynuts88 10th-May-2006, 10:12 AM What headers are those? Stick or auto? jgallagher 10th-May-2006, 03:04 PM I used to have a GTO that had that problem. It would heat my starter/celluoid up so it wouldnt start until it cooled down. I got a starter heat shield from a chevy dealer for a big block chevy and put it on. It helped.
