I just purchased and installed a dash wiring kit from Classic Industries for my 64 with the SS gauges. The new box has a set of black and black/white stripe wires that have spade connectors on the end. One of them has the spade connector with a "jumper" wire coming out of it and another spade connector on the end of that. Anyone have an idea where they go?

Those are the wires that go to the shunt resistor that is located on the radiator support ( it should be by the voltage regulator). This is the resistor that feeds the battery guage in the cluster.

I do not remember the exact way they hook up. I will look at my "63 tonight and let you know if no one else answers first.

f16fxr4real,
I'm thinking about rewiring my 66SS. I am looking at the Classic Industries harness. I like it because it looks like it has a stock type fuse panel and uses the stock type bulkhead connectors. What do you think of your wiring harness?

I bought harness's for my 66 from Classic. They are made by Autowire, and fit exactly like the original.
