Does anyone have a close up picture of a real Nova Wagon Roof Rack? I have a rack and think it is a Nova Wagon Roof Rack. I will post some pictures.

Thanks,

If it is, it is a 1st gen rack, but NOT a 2nd gen rack. (ie. NOT a 66 or 67 rack).

Maybe someone else can speak up on the 1st gen's ??

I think that's the rack for the early Corvair applications. The Nova shared a similar rack design as the Impala. However, who knows what would have been used if you drove into the dealer and had them install a rack on your new Nova in 1963.

No, that is not a standard roof rack for a first gen wagon. The standard one is much better looking than that. I will measure mine when I get home.

The rack looks alot like the one on this wagon. But I can not see it that close.

It might be too long for a corvair wagon.

Thanks,

If you look close, that one has points at the corners. Yours is rounded. Not that nice looking.;)

Yes, ditto on what Danno and Maniac said. The rack is also the same one used on Impala wagons, but much longer tubes. The feet of the rack are a nice design.

Mine measures, 46" x 53".

bbqrat, Can you take a close up picture of your roof rack. Also, can you measure your roof rack please.

I am thinking Dave is right about it being a Corvair roof rack because it is not as wide.

Thanks, Mark for measuring your roof rack.

Just to echo Danno, the 2nd Gen rack is:
- pointed at the corners,
- had frontward bows,
- the feet have a joints
- the feet bolts holes are front and back and not side to side.

I have an almost perfect 66/67 rack in the garage at home (with the 4 oe feet and 4 brand new feet). If it helps I can take detailed pictures ?!

1st gen Canada version rack, maybe ?!?!

I also can gaurantee you it isnt off a 66 or 67. I have an original one on mine just like Brents. Looks more like something off a camper to me.
