I replaced both headlights about two months ago and they worked fine. Last week the right bright wouldn't come on and today the left bright quit working too. The dims are fine. I'm guessing the foot switch may be the problem but haven't checked yet. Any other guesses? Thanks in advance.

Check your headlight plug. Corrosion could cause this also.

If they're wired the same as my 67, the right headlight chains off of the plug on the back of the left one. Bad wires or corroded connections on the back of the left hand headlight plug could cause those symptoms.

The foot switch inside the car doesn't have fine control over the left/right lights, the power wire for both lights is common at that point, so it being the switch is a stretch. If it was the foot switch, both brights would have failed at the same time.

My vote is on the headlight plug. :)

Thanks I got it all figured out. The drivers side had a short on the bright wire that was exposed to metal so I taped it up and the passenger side plugs were loose so I bent the prongs to make a tighter connection.

Thanks again,
