It's reasonably certain that cutting the decks, installing new rings, together with the hydraulic roller version of your cam would put that car in the 11.5's without the added expense of a 383.

When I look at how docile your combination really is, it is amazing that car runs in the 11's. Again, great work!

You think so even with adding 150+ pounds of interior weight back in?

I'm starting to come up with a plan, so as soon as I get one or two more times out to the track I'm gonna get things started on both cars.

Thanks again for the help and compliments.:)

Whoa, didn't realize you had that much weight stripped from the car. Maybe 11.50's is a bit optimistic. It would be interesting to see what proper quench and a good ring seal would do. However, I understand that if you have to dig into the engine, might as well upgrade.

Yea, those front buckets weigh 50lbs each and I think the back seat was around 45lbs.

Kev's got the idea. If I'm gonna limit the 67 to 11.5's I want it to look nice also. I've always wanted nice paint and new SS interior.

I'll leave the seats out of the 66 though.;)

Two tracks! One 20 miles North and one 20 miles South.:D

Was off by a consistant 1 mph last night, don't know why? There was a bit of wind out there last night though. Only hit the 11's once. Here's a 12.00 video for your viewing pleasure.

Looks promising. I'll have to call him tomorrow and get more details and pics. It's only about 12 hours from me. Gotta decide quick, I'm ordering new floor pans this week.:)

Great video. I wonder who was driving that red 67 in the next lane?? :D I'll take full responsibility for that redlight since I pushed myself through the lights playing with launch RPM. ;)

I didn't make up my MPH running that night until later in the evening on my last run. I think it was mostly due to my poor driving and learning what the car wanted me to do.

I expected better performance due to the air conditions. :awkward:

Went out Saturday night, never seen it so bad. Took me almost 2 hours just to get in the gate.:awkward: Ricer heaven. Track was a mess. Could only manage 2 runs both spinning like crazy. Got flagged for noise, looked at the line, and headed for home. Might be done for the year, tires are shot. Got to where I wanted though this year. (Even a little more;) .) Checking into 383 rotating kits and hopefully dropping off the 350 4 bolt block soon. Might install some split monos and disk brakes on the front over the winter also. Will be looking for mid 11's with full interior and some heat.:D

Ordered the floor pans for the 66 and will start looking into welders. Will be a busy winter, see how far I can get on the 66 drag car project.:)

Back from the dead.:D Here is the 357 ready to be pulled and the 350 4 bolt ready for the machine shop. Gonna go with an Eagle 383 kit from CNC Motorsports. This will be a nice looking, very streetable, 11.5 car.

Don't worry. I'm only shooting for 11.5 with the 383 in the 67. You can still whoop up on me a little...at least until the 66 is built.:D

Thats Cool, I Used To Have A 383 In My Car It Was A 550 Horse Built By Speedomotive I Had 4:11's In The Rear ( 10 Bolt ) And A Bogus Converter The Car Would Have A 1:60 60 Foot And Run 11:20's On The Motor And The Best Was A 10:40 On The Spray, That Was Until I Built This Small Block Which Is A 406sbc Pumping Out 680hp!! I Dont Run The Spray Anymore, Just Motor Whats Goin In Your 66?

The plans now are for the short block from the 67 along with some 041 heads I have, then spray it with 150 shot. Once that gives out or gets boring, which ever comes first, then I'll build a more serious motor for the 66. These plans are still a ways down the road though. I still have to weld in the new pans and get a cage. I shooting for the 67 to run 11.5's (no roll bar) and have the 66 touch the nines on a small tire. Money and motivation will tell the story though.:D
