Any car with an electric fuel pump has to have one.

I thought it was only if your battery was in the trunk???

If you have a trunk mounted battery, an outside cutoff switch is mandatory. And it must be wired through the positive cable. Dave

You need a cut of switch if battery is in the trunk. It must be able to 1-keep car from starting and 2 able to shut the car off instantly when running-they will check this at the track for tech.

So don't forget to run your alternator wire through the switch too, if you run an alternator.
