engine numbers ?

What would be the correct number date code on engine block,Heads, for a car born (acording to vin#)in April?
the engine had to be manufactured before assembly in to car(How much ahead of born date on vin # for car would the engine born date(casting date )be?

Trying to put correct period engine (67ss 327) back in car
