i bought a new tank and a new sending unit and got it installed. my questions is, the ground wire is already on, what do you use to connect the hot wire to the terminal? the sending unit positive terminal is not threaded so how do you make a good trouble free connection? thanks for any help!

Hi big dog ss,

The wire going to the sending unit should have a special connector that simply plugs onto the terminal post. The connector has a built-in rubber boot to keep out water and dirt.

If that special connector has been cut off the wire on your car, you will probably have to replace the wire ... I don't think I've ever seen those connectors available separately. Fortunately, it's only a short section of wire that you'd have to replace. It simply runs from the sending unit, up through a grommet in the trunk floor, and plugs into the taillight harness. I think they're available through many of the restoration parts vendors.
