I'm getting ready to seam seal the pans in the 68. They are in, and por15 has been applied (to the pans and myself). I bought some 3M fast n firm (interesting name isn't it) yesterday and wanted A couple of opinions on the stuff before I start using it.

Tommy,
Fast and Firm is Allright but there are better seam sealers.I wont post on a Public board my dislikes on it but will say,Urethane is Much Better down the road.It is more but you are doing a Nice Job.I use Fusor Seam Sealer and like it.It is about 9 Dollars a Tube and works in a Regular Caulk Gun.

Yes Tommy, that is a Problem.I am sure some will say it doesn't,but I have seen it Many Times. In all Honesty,You could use it on the Insides on the Pans, you said you Welded the Underside so that wont need it.I use Urethane everywhere.

I just checked the TS Data Sheet, kind of what I remembered.3M doesnt recomend F&F Sealer for Pasenger Compartments. I see no mention of it remaining Flexible?Read the Tube maybe it say's on it.
From how the Sheet reads that sealer is used for Quickies where Cost is a Factor.
Not trying to say what will and wont work.

Joe, I'm not sure why you're concerned about needing a flex compound in the welded seam areas discussed.

And 68sschevyII, per POR15 directions, make sure that you lightly sand any areas that you are going to add paint (or sealers) to promote proper adhesion. ;)

I have been using 3m Ultrapro sealant # 08300. It took paint and POR 15 well and I haven't had a problem with it yet.

MT,
I am not Concerned with the FloorPans needing a Flexable Sealer,as I typed earlier I thought it would work for Tom.I believe the Reason 3m doesn't Reccomend the Sealer for the Passenger Compartment is Odor.I like Flexable Sealer Everywhere Myself and believe ICAR Recommends the Same.It has been a While since I was Certified so I could be wrong on that. The Reason I like Flexable Sealer is Cars Flex.I dont think so many Collision Shops use Urethane Sealer because it Costs more I believe they have seen what the Old Style Sealers can do.For Me if one Product can do it all then I dont want to have two different Products laying around. Not trying to Say F&F wont work or isnt Good or Cracks everytime.I hope this doesnt go in the Direction of"If the work is done correct the Car wont Flex",I have some interesting Info. there.

Joe, I'm was just responding to your latest I see no mention of it remaining Flexible? when asking I'm not sure why you're concerned about needing a flex compound in the welded seam areas discussed

I'm sure that any of the choices mentioned will work just fine. ;)

68sschevyII has already purchased the item so he's in all likelyhood "Go to Go". :)

I haven't decided on using it or buying another style. I did some other stuff today on the car while I "ponder" about the sealer. No biggie, My big challenge now is the paint for the interior. Allready got the paint, and my painter freind is waiting on me, we just aren't sure what gets sprayed and what doesn't... Thanks for the input on this though, i'm sure everyone has A personal favorite or was just pleased with the type they used once. :)

I agree with 1962 Chevy II, 3M Ultra Pro urethane is all I use. We use it at the GM dealer body shop I work at and it works great. It comes in a 'sausage tube' and uses a special gun and nozzles.

Dave,
You can also get UltraPro in a Regular Tube.
