Looking at a Nova!

I'm going to go look at a Nova 4 sale. It's a 64 2 Door. I'm looking for a good solid car to cutomize into a resto-rod or Pro tour car, All original is not important . What are the common things to look for? eg: common rust problem spots? What are the differences between 1964 and 1966-67? I've only owned street trucks in the past this will be my first muscle/classic car.

Make sure the center to center of the front and back wheels on both sides are pretty close. Rust around the windshield and rear package tray can be bad but not noticeable. Underneath the doors where the drainholes are can be rotted out and not visible. Underside of the rocker panels and behind the rear bumper, not to mention behind the area above the headlights,area directly in front of rocker on the fenders. Cowl area behind dash, around hood hinges, another words, any place gravity can collect water without sufficient drainage.
